We have arranged for Tony Leabetter, the New Forest Umpires tutor, to give a presentation on umpiring and the laws of cricket. This will include LBW and no ball laws, which you all think you know but don’t !! All are welcome to attend. That means YOU as well senior players. You may learn something. Also an opportunity for a pre-season social. 7pm Thursday 1st May

- kit
- ground works
......... and many more
Also please be aware that some of the friendly fixtures have been altered and some external matches added.
April Snow
Well there's only 2 weeks till the first game and 10 days till outdoor training starts, so lets hope the pitch doesn't still look like this by then (snapped by trev at the weekend). Click to enlarge.
Senior Nets
Please be aware that indoor nets are still ongoing, with two more sessions on the 2nd and 9th of April (6pm @ Redbridge School). Turn out has been poor so far with only the usual regulars showing any commitment. If we are to be competitive this season we need a 'running start' to make sure we are loose and ready to take on the usual Hants/NF league protagonists.
The first game is on April 20th ..... thats only 3 weeks.
March Newsletter
Trev has provided us with the March edition of the Newsletter. There are many important announcements so please have a look. Thanks.
You can download it by clicking here or find it in the News Section
Ground Work
The season is fast approaching and with the slowly improving weather, it's now time to get the ground up to its usual exceptional standard.
This is a call for any players/colts/parents/members with a free Sunday morning to lend Monty and the rest of his Ground Force crew (sadly no Charlie Dimmock !) a much needed hand. There are leaves to be moved, grass to be cut, edges to be tidied, nets to be prepared .... and the usual plethora or jobs.
If you can spare time on a Sunday morning, please call Mont on 02380 292244 and see what you can help with.
Fantasy League
As anyone playing senior cricket over the last two years has no doubt experienced, the intra-club Fantasy League, run by Steve Locke, has been a great deal of fun and provided much 'banter' within the club.
Due to Lockeys extra commitments this season, he is sadly unable to do the weekly data crunching required, and so is looking for volunteers to continue the Fantasy League. He is able to provide the spreadsheet, all set up and ready to go, so the lucky volunteer can dive straight in after the first game of the season.
Email me here if you are interested.
Menorca Tour 2008
The 2008 Menorca tour has been booked and finalised for 26th September to the 3rd October. Full details are available in the February newsletter (see below).
Anyone wishing to go on the always fun-filled tour should contact Trev ASAP as numbers, names and deposits are required soon.
